30-year-old Victim Locked in the Apartment First Floor: In Delhi, a victim of gangrape jumped off the first floor from the balcony of the apartment where the crime happened. The 30-year-old woman jumped off as she wanted to escape the men who locked her up in the apartment. On Sunday, the Delhi Police have arrested the five men for allegedly raping the woman in East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar. Based on the woman’s allegations the police said a case was registered at Pandav Nagar police station. All the five accused were workers in the call center in Noida.
Sexual Assault Victim Jumped off the First Floor to Escape, Five Accused Held
As per a report from the NDTV, Ravindra Yadav, the Joint Commissioner of Police, said “The woman has alleged that she was gang-raped by five persons in a flat. She said that she came to the flat with one of the accused, who is a common friend.” Yadav added, “She alleged that the accused was later joined by four of his friends and they gang-raped her. She objected and tried to get away by jumping off the balcony of the first-floor apartment.”
She had informed the police that the five men held her as a captive right from Saturday night until the next morning which was Sunday. They took turns and raped her, she said. The police also said that one of the five accused men was known to the victim from before. He and four other men forced her to drink alcohol till she was inebriated. Allegedly then the five accused went on to rape her. Then at around 5.30 am in the morning the victim managed to get to the balcony and jumped off. Then she alerted nearby people about the sexual assault and one of them informed the police.
The woman finally escaped as she jumped off the first floor of the balcony of the apartment where she was held captive. The victim jumped off from the first floor and suffered minor injuries on her legs. The victim of sexual assault was admitted to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. The five accused men were called center workers.
