Though the plans sound very similar to those of Reliance Jio plans, the big difference between these two plans is that this new Reliance Communications unlimited voice calling plan can work on just about any mobile phone. However, the other company telecom plans and free offers required 4G VoLTE-capable Smartphone. Reliance Jio currently offers its customers all of its services for free with the regular telecom monthly subscription plans starting from Rs. 149 for the company. The Reliance Jio base plan also offers 300 MB mobile data along with the unlimited voice calling. These two companies share agreements along with the spectrum trading.

During the company’s press release, Gurdeep Singh, who is the Co-CEO of Reliance Communications was quoted as saying, “Our new pioneering yet simple Unlimited Plan has the potential to trigger a paradigm shift in the way Indians recharge their mobile phones, creating a significant shift in the telecom market as it moves away from the ‘Unit Rate’ charging regime to a ‘Single Recharge and Unlimited Usage’ regime.” Adding “Our Unlimited Plan will see millions of Indians benefit, and help RCOM ramp up its customer base and engage with higher-value customers and greater ARPUs,”.

This new telecom plan seems to target those customers or mobile users that do not own a 4G capable Smartphone. Reliance Communications has mentioned clearly in the earlier press release that there are no hidden charges with the new plan or even additional conditions to go with the new plan.
