Kolkata: A 12-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered by two taxi drivers of the Ola cab on Wednesday morning in Kolkata city. The City Police booked and charged a case against the two Ola cab drivers and further investigation is still under process. A complaint has been registered with the Hare-street police station in Kolkata and the local police were very serious regarding the case. The duo has been identified as Shankar Shaw and Guddu Singh. The police say they abducted the girl on Tuesday night after consuming liquor in the Watgunge area of the city. The 12-year-old girl used to stay along with her family on the pavements of the Brabourne road. The guys who drunk liquor has abducted the girl.

According to the police report, they said Shaw and Singh confessed to the crime after they were arrested. The incident taking place on a newly-inaugurated stretch of the Parama Island flyover locally known as the Ma flyover has raised many questions on the safety of women and the arrangements of police patrolling in the area.
As per the sources information, the two men had been drinking near the city’s docks before they drove to Brabourne Road in central Kolkata and kidnapped the 12-year-old girl. A senior officer of the City police, Akhilesh told that “We are still ascertaining details about the men who committed the crime.”
The 12-year-old girl was first reported missing around 5 a.m. on Wednesday. The police said Shaw and Singh took her to the Park Circus flyover, took turns to rape her, then strangled her to death and dumped her body in the canal below the flyover. The body was subsequently recovered from there. A similar type of incidents happened in Kolkata, Delhi with some other taxi cab drivers.
