Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday night.  Right now she is being monitored by the experts and was put on a heart assist device.  She was admitted to Apollo Hospital on complaining of fever, dehydration and congestion in September. On December 4th it was announced by the hospital authorities that she has been recovered absolutely.

Subbiah Viswanathan, COO of Apollo Hospitals said ‘she is being tread and monitored by a team of experts, including pulmonologists, cardiologist and critical care specialist.’

In a series of tweets from the Apollo Hospitals, it mentioned about the treatment that Jayalalithaa was undergoing. The hospital tweeted saying ‘she was put on extracorporeal membrane heart assist device and is being treated by a team of expert doctors and critical care specialists.’

Later, the hospital said that Dr Richard Beale from London, who previously was consulted about Jayalalitha’s treatment, has concurred with a line of treatment by our cardiologist and pulmonologist. In another tweet, the hospital made an appeal asking all to pray for her good health and recovery.  The tweet read ‘Our prayers are with her and we hope she will recover soon.  We request all of you to pray for her good health and well-being.’

It was found out from the hospital sources that she was moved back to the intensive care unit from her room.  Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao visited the hospital in the early hours of Monday to know the details about Jaya’s health.

Many politicians and other biggies tweeted for her speedy recovery.

President Pranab Mukherjee tweeted ‘Distressed to hear about CM Jayalalithaa suffering a cardiac arrest, my prayers for her speedy recovery.’

MK Stain tweeted saying that the intensive care treatment being given to Jaya should give positive results and wished her a speedy recovery.
