Fans Booed Captain’s Century as it Stalled Dhoni’s Batting
The captain ‘cool’ hit half a dozen of sixes and three fours as Saurabh Tiwary scored 102 not out in 103 balls. Meanwhile, Ishank Jaggi hit a remarkable ten fours and four sixes and got 116 runs not out for 92 balls. The two batsmen together put up a great batting partnership to hit an unbroken 214 runs partnership. They made up for the most out of the total 277 having 22 balls to spare.
The crowds got excited and kept shouting their favorite name ‘MS Dhoni’ however Jaggi and Tiwary did not get perturbed. However several of his fans lost their cool and shouted ‘Saurabh Tiwary Hai Hai’. The left-handed Tiwary replied in a positive spirit: “We must understand that they’re emotional as Mahi bhai never played here…Being a professional I did not mind. We were subjected to much more sledging on the field.” The ‘cool’ captain Tiwary said, “We played without any pressure well aware of the fact that MS comes next.”
Maybe Dhoni’s bat hit fewer runs but he gave tips during the tea break which came a long way in helping them win. Jaggi revealed saying, “Mahi bhai advised us to play in a calm and composed manner. He told us, ‘If you play with patience runs will come. It’s about staying there and finishing the game.”
At first, Jharkhand’s win looked shaky as they were down to 65/3 for 17 over’s. However, the untimely Services’ fielding gave them a chance to build up. Midway into the match Services was at the better end at 107/3 as the required run rate was beyond six. Later the super batting partnership took charge with Tiwary finishing his Second List-A Century in 100 balls & Jaggi, his Sixth List-A Century in 82 balls.
